Ice Dams: What To Do When They Form, After They Melt

Once the snow and ice dams (icicles) have melted, it is prime conditions for mold to grow where the melted snow has accumulated. Dampness can cause mold growth in as little as 24-48 hours; and mold growth can cause serious health issues.  Be aware of the steps you can take if you see ice dams forming, and what to do after they have melted.

Make sure to have a non-biased company, like RTK Environmental Group, test your home and business for possible mold growth (and other nasty toxins) before it’s too late!

Any kind of water damage (from floods, burst pipes, leaks) can facilitate the growth of mold in as little as 24-48 hours. (ServiceMaster Restore, 2016)
