Soil and Water Testing

Lead in Soil & Water

Water testing and soil testing will confirm whether your soil and water supply contain dangerous lead, an environmental hazard that can cause serious health issues.

Soil and water contamination are growing issues, especially with the aging infrastructure of our plumbing systems.

Buying bottled water to drink does not solve the overarching problem of the heavy metal lead in water. Every day, you use your tap water to brush your teeth, bathe, wash clothes and dishes, water your vegetable gardens, and more. You are in contact with your soil every day – children play in the yard, you mow your lawn, and plant vegetable and flower gardens in your soil. If your water or soil contains lead or other toxins, your health is at risk.

Moisture problems in buildings were linked to changes in building construction practices during the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Some of these changes have resulted in buildings that are tightly sealed, but may lack adequate ventilation, potentially leading to moisture buildup. (EPA)
